Apparently they're famous, and were in fact our first introduction to Czech food at a late lunch cafe (with wonderfully upholstered seats in the open air). Good way to get meat into you, and all very well cooked. The person eating them was quite tasty too!

What's happening?

The premise of the film sounded excellent and intriguing, and the opening scenes were good. There were a few good suspense moments and surprises in the body of the film, but apart from that... dull, slow, and a really sad missed opportunity. The Happening isn't really happening, wait for the DVD - or not, as the case may be.

Prague Food
That was one of the best bits, eating and drinking. We sort of ascended in quality during the holiday. On the first night it was one of the many tourist-orientated restaurants in the old town square - good food, and at least the menu had pictures to help us out. The second night took us to a fantastic Belgian establishment in the north of the city, specialising in Mussels, and each portion is huge and very well prepared.

Finally we went very up-market, to Barock, a stylish bar/restaurant with street seating, nestled amongst all the designer shops and apparently the place to be seen by Czech celebrities!

Prague Castle
One of the most popular tourist attractions, but worth the walk up the hill (there's a cheap cafe just near the entrance with a garden overlooking the city, so £2 for a beer is a good reward) and also worth buying the combined ticket to get to see all the main aspects of the complex. Walk up the 297 steps in the cathedral for fantastic views, enter the old halls to see a staircase for horses, but avoid the little street of artists houses which is just too tacky. Fantastic sculpture at the exit too, and either that or the torture tools will give you ideas!
Mushrooms anyone?

Could be a good plot for a horror, and I guess the film is above average, but more could be made of the magic mushroom plot. There's a decent twist at the end, which of course leaves it open for Shrooms The Revenge of the Killer Funghi, but the effects are limited, like the characters! Lots of blood though.
